Pixathlon Alps Adria

In this cross-border photo contest the participants are invited to photographically portray a foreign city across the border. Photography will be used as a common language to connect three diverse cultures.

The cross-border photo contest connecting the cities of Villach (Austria) and Trieste (Italy) will take place on September 13th whilst the cities of Klagenfurt (Austria) and Ljubljana (Slovenia) will be connected on September 14th.
On both days participants from two partnering countries will meet during a joint breakfast in the border region. Afterwards participants will be taken to the foreign city where they will be challenged to take pictures on six topics in six hours. Within these six hours the participants will get to experience the new city in an intense and extraordinary way.

From September 25th, one week exhibitions will kick-off with an award ceremony honouring the intercultural photographic work in each city. This will offer a unique insight into the perspective that the neighbouring cities of the Alps Adriatic Region have towards each other.

The event will be hosted by the projects “Efficient Effective Smart” (Slovenia-Austria) and “Smart Energy” (Italy-Austria) and should transfer the project topics Energy Technologies, Education, Entrepreneurship and Cross-Border-Collaboration into a new medium.

Everybody with a camera is invited to participate in this event – please register here(http://pixathlon.in/alpsadria/).
